Many people around the world have gut problems. Gas and bloating can happen after eating a big meal. Many can’t seem to regulate their systems, and either diarrhea or constipation is a problem. When your gut is off, you feel off, with feelings of lethargy and sluggishness.
Leaky gut syndrome has become a major problem. The gut lining becomes damaged and no longer functions as a barrier to harmful bacteria. Small holes form in the gut lining and become larger over time, even allowing undigested food particles to enter the body and cause damage.
CBD can help. Promising research shows that CBD may increase the gut lining’s absorption of probiotics, which are good bacteria that balance out harmful bacteria. Probiotics are pivotal for gut health. CBD also has a calming effect on the gut, greatly reducing inflammation. Over time, the reduction in inflammation reduces the permeability that leads to leaky gut. When inflammation is reduced, the gut has healthier performance in digesting food, intaking nutrients and processing waste.
CBD has also been shown to help keep correct pH levels in the intestines. When the pH is at proper levels, growth of bad bacteria is controlled, and good bacteria can flourish.
CBD works with a person’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) by binding to receptors to create certain effects. The ECS is the overall regulator for the body, and that includes gut health, as well as regulation of digestion and gut inflammation.
When looking for a CBD oil, look for a broad spectrum oil that includes other cannabinoids besides CBD, and other terpenes. All of these are natural to the hemp plant and work together to create an entourage effect, meaning the cannabinoids in combination are stronger than a cannabinoid by itself. Look for products that contain no THC, which is a hallucinogen. Hemp naturally has a small bit of THC which is removed by a process called chromatography during the product formulation.
Excellent CBD products have third-party lab testing with transparent lab results that you can look up online for your batch of product. Always choose a product that has transparent lab testing, and shy away from those that don’t. You also want to look for a product that is non-GMO, and derived from hemp that is organically grown. The process used to extract CBD is also important, so look for an extraction process like CO2 extraction that uses no harmful solvents in the process.
If you have gut problems, CBD is worth a try. Talk to your doctor to see if CBD is right for you. Your gut will thank you!

Calming An Over Active Immune System
Most reporting done on the immune system has focused on ways to strengthen or stimulate immunity. The hope is if you bolster the immune system you can fight off illnesses better or avoid getting sick altogether. Especially during cold and flu season. The full story on immunity is more complex.
A healthy immune system is a balanced immune system, one that is not too weak and not too strong. In reality, it’s important to regulate immune function, not just strengthen it.
